My girls love creating Mother’s Day crafts like Salt Dough Foot Prints Craft, Mother’s Portrait Collage, and Hand Print Craft. This year we wanted to make edible flowers in the pot using this easy cookie recipe. This butter cookies recipe is super easy to make. It only takes 5 ingredients to make flower cookies. You can make your own frosting from scratch or buy a ready to use frosting from Fred Meyers Store. These cookies turn out perfect every time. They are so sweet and cute! A perfect Mother’s Day Gift Idea to make with your kids! You can eat the flower cookie and save the yummy chocolate muffin for the next day. Ingredients you will need to make Flower Cookies:
- 9 tablespoon butter, room temperature
- 1⅔ cup flour
- ½ cup organic sugar
- 1 tablespoon agave or corn syrup
- 1 egg

Step One
Preheat the oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with a parchment paper.

Step Two
Place 1⅔ cups of flour and 9 tablespoons of butter in a large bowl, using your hands rub the butter into the flour.
Step Three
In a different bowl whisk 1 egg.
Add 1 whisked egg, ½ cup sugar and 1 tablespoon of agave, to the flour mixture. Knead the dough until everything is combined.
Place the dough into the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
Step Four
Flour the surface and roll out the dough to ¼ in. Press the cookie cuter to create 12 flower shapes. Roll out the dough, take a knife and cut out 12 little leaves.
Step Five
Put one cake pop stick on a baking sheet, add flower shaped cookie dough over it and press gently over the top.
Repeat, until no space left on the baking sheet.
Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until light golden color. Let your cookies cool until room temperature.
Ingredients you will need to decorate Mother’s Day Flowers:
- 2 oz. grated chocolate
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- water
- yellow, pink and green food colors
- 3 icing bags
- 12 treat cups
- 12 cake pop sticks or coffee stirrers
- 1 flower shape cookie cutter
- 12 chocolate muffins
Step One
To make icing, in a mixing bowl, mix powdered sugar with few tablespoons of water or enough water to make a smooth paste.
Then divide the icing upon 3 little bowls.
Finally stir in green, yellow and pink food coloring, then pipe your icing bags.
Step Two
Take pink icing and outline the flower shape with icing, leave an empty circle in the middle of the flower. Add yellow icing in the middle of the flower. Decorate leaves with green icing.
Step Three
Place chocolate muffins inside the treat cups. Stick your cookie flower inside the muffin. Add a green cookie leaf at the bottom of the flower stem. Finally sprinkle shaved chocolate around the bottom of the flower. Enjoy!
