INGREDIENTS

– 4 tablespoons butter plus more for greasing – 1/2 onion diced – 1/3 cup flour – 2 – 3 cups milk I use 3 cups of milk – 1 cup heavy whipping cream – 2 lb potato peeled and sliced – 2-3 cups turkey breast cooked, you can also use chicken breast or ham – 2 cups colby Jack cheese grated – salt and pepper to taste – 2 tablespoons parsley finely chopped

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400F. Melt butter in the large skillet on a medium heat. Add onion, saute it until golden color about 4-5 minutes, stirring few times.

Step 2

Add flour and whisk it with a wooden spoon, cook for 2 minutes or until it turns golden brown color.

Step 3

Slowly pour in milk and heavy whipping cream, whisk contentiously for 3-4 minutes. Add salt and pepper, reduce the heat to low.

Step 4

Slice potato the thinner the better. Using butter grease baking dish. Add 1/2 of the sliced potato, 1/2 turkey breast, cheese followed by 1/2 of the white sauce mixture. Repeat again with the rest of the ingredients.

Step 5

Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes, then remove foil and bake it for another 20 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked. Garnish with parsley and enjoy!
