Quick Pickled Red Onions

INGREDIENTS

– 1 large red onion sliced into 1/4 inch rings – 2/3 cup red wine vinegar – 2/3 cup water – 1 tablespoon kosher salt – 1/2 teaspoon organic sugar

Step 1

To make pickled red onion, first slice red onion and place it in the glass jar or container.

Step 2

I like to use a glass jar that fits 2 cups of mixture.

Step 3

Using a sauce pan mix vinegar, water, salt and sugar and bring it to a gentle boil over medium/high heat.

Step 4

Once it starts boiling, pour the mixture into the glass jar filled with sliced red onion.

Step 5

Let the pickle mixture cool down, then cover with the lid and refrigerate over night or 24 hours, before serving.

Step 6

Store in airtight container, inside the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
