Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease 9 by 13 inches pan and set aside.
In a mixing bowl combine 3½ cups chopped walnuts and 1 cup of powdered sugar. In a different bowl combine 1½ cup ground almonds and 2 cups of butter minus 2 tablespoons.
Place your 2 filo sheets into a pan (make sure you cover the rest of the filo pastry with a towel to prevent from getting dry). Brush about 2 tablespoons of almond and butter mixture over the pastry sheet. Repeat this step total of 5 times. Now spread half of the walnut mixture over 11th filo sheet.
Place another 2 filo sheets on top of the walnut mixture, then brush 2 tablespoons of almond mixture. Repeat total of 5 times.
Spread the rest of the walnut mixture, gently pressing on the dough. Place another 2 filo sheets on top and brush 2 tablespoons of almond mixture. Repeat this step total of 5 times. Place the last 8 filo sheets on top.
Brush 2 tablespoons of butter that you reserved over the last filo sheets. Using a knife cut the Baklava into small diamond shapes.
Bake Baklava for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes reduce the heat to 275F and cook for 2 more hours. After it's done baking let it cool.
To make Baklava Syrup:
In a small sauce pan add 1½ cup powdered sugar and 1 cup of water. Bring it to a boil, reduce the heat and cook for 15 minutes. Add lemon juice and zest, then remove from the heat.
Using a spoon, spoon the hot syrup over the cooled Baklava. Cover with a towel and let it set in the dry place over the night. Drizzle melted chocolate over the Paklava and sprinkle ground almonds. Enjoy!
