Preheat the oven to 400F, then line muffin pan with paper liners.
In a mixing bowl sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, sugar, baking powder and salt. Give it a mix.
In different bowl whisk eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla extract.
Pour buttermilk mixture into flour mixture, stir until batter is just combined. Fold in nuts and chocolate chips.
Divide the batter among the muffin cups, sprinkle extra nuts on top.
Bake for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center of the muffin.
Transfer muffins from the pan to the wire rack to cool. Enjoy with coffee, or tea.
