Easy Creamy Chicken Tarragon Recipe – golden brown chicken breast served with hot creamy tarragon sauce. This delicious French recipe can be served with creamy mashed potatoes, pasta or cooked rice. If you are a cheese lover make sure to sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese or add it to the sauce right before you turn off the heat. Ingredients you will need to make Creamy Chicken Tarragon:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 Organic chicken breasts, boneless & skinless, fat removed
- 1 medium size onion, chopped ( I used 1/2 of a large onion)
- 1 teaspoon dry herbes de Provence
- 2 garlic gloves, finely chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup hot chicken broth ( I used homemade chicken broth)
- 1/2 cup white cooking wine
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 teaspoon dry tarragon or 2 tablespoons freshly chopped tarragon
- grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Step One
In a cooking pan on a medium/high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add chicken breast and cook for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown.
Turn chicken breast on the other side. Cook another 2 minutes.
Step Two
Add chopped onion, sprinkle 1 teaspoon herbes de Provence, 2 finely chopped garlic cloves, salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 3 minutes.
Step Three
Add 1 cup of chicken broth and 1/2 cup white cooking wine, bring it to a boil.
Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
Step Four
Transfer chicken breasts to a plate. Turn the heat on high and boil the sauce until reduced by half. Stir in heavy whipping cream and 1/2 teaspoon dry tarragon. Boil until thickened. If it becomes too thick add more chicken broth and adjust the salt and pepper to taste.
Step Five
Slice chicken breast and place it over cooked rice or mashed potatoes. Pour the sauce over the chicken and sprinkle Parmesan cheese to taste. Enjoy!
