How to Make Stuffed Pizza Rolls

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 450F and line baking sheet with parchment paper and spray it with oil or butter. Then place a bowl or a cup in the middle to help us create a wreath shape.
Step 2. Next, cut 6 cheese sticks into 30 pieces. Then divide the pizza dough in half, then in half again, and in half, creating 30 balls about 2 inches wide.

Step 3. After, wrap each cheese with pizza dough and pinch the ends to seal the ball, placing balls seal side down on a baking sheet. Arrange cheese pizza rolls around the plate creating a wreath.
Step 4. Remove the plate off the baking sheet, we don't need it anymore.

Step 5. Now, lets make an egg wash for our pizza wreath.

Step 6. Whisk 1 egg with 1 tablespoon of water in a small mixing bowl, then brush this mixture over the dough.

Step 7. Sprinkle everything but the bagel seasoning, to taste over the top.

How Long to Bake Pizza Bites
Step 8. Bake pizza rolls at 450F for about 15-20 minutes or until golden color. Meanwhile, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and when pizza rolls are done baking, immediately brush it over them.

Step 9. Finally, sprinkle parmesan cheese, bacon pieces and freshly chopped basil over the top and place a small bowl of pizza sauce in the middle.

Step 10. Pull one stuffed pizza roll and dip it in pizza sauce. Enjoy!
Pro Tips for the Best Bacon Cheese Pizza Rolls
- Cook the bacon until crispy – Soft or chewy bacon will release grease into the rolls, making them soggy. Cook until crisp, then pat dry with paper towels before adding.
- Use room-temperature dough – Cold dough is harder to roll out and tends to shrink back. Let it sit at room temp for 20–30 minutes before shaping.
- Slice with dental floss (best hack!) – Slide unflavored dental floss under the dough, cross the ends, and pull to slice without squishing the rolls. A sharp serrated knife works too.
- Leave space when baking – Place rolls slightly apart on your baking dish or sheet pan. This allows them to expand and crisp up instead of steaming together.
- Brush with garlic butter – For bakery-style flavor, brush the tops with a mixture of melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley either right before baking (for color) or right after (for shine and flavor).
- Add cheese on top – A sprinkle of shredded mozzarella or Parmesan on top of the rolls before baking adds a golden, cheesy crust.
- Serve with dipping sauces – Pizza sauce is classic, but ranch, garlic butter, or spicy marinara make these rolls extra fun for game day or parties.
- Reheat for the perfect texture – Warm leftovers in the oven (350°F for 8–10 minutes) or the air fryer (350°F for 5–6 minutes). Avoid the microwave if you want them crispy.
- Make-ahead friendly – Assemble the rolls, cover tightly with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking. Or freeze unbaked rolls on a tray, transfer to a zip bag, and bake straight from frozen (adding 5–7 minutes extra).

Cheese Stuffed Pizza Rolls Recipe with Bacon
Ingredients
- 1 lb pizza dough store-bought or homemade
- 3 strips bacon cut in half & baked at 400F for 10 min, finely chopped
- 6 mozzarella sticks
- 2 tablespoons butter melted
- 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese finely grated, more if desired
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil finely chopped
- 1 egg for egg wash
- everything but the bagel seasoning to sprinkle on top, to taste
- pizza sauce or marinara sauce, for serving
Instructions
- Cook the bacon: Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil and bake bacon strips for 10 minutes, or until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate, chop finely, and set aside.
- Prep the dough and cheese: Cut mozzarella sticks into 30 pieces. Divide pizza dough into 30 equal portions (about 2 inches wide).
- Wrap the cheese: Flatten each dough piece slightly, place a cheese piece inside, and pinch to seal. Place dough balls seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Shape into a pizza roll wreath or football shape: Increase oven temperature to 450°F. Place a small bowl in the center of a lined baking sheet as a guide, then arrange the stuffed pizza balls around it to form a circle or a football shape. Remove the bowl before baking.
- Brush with egg wash and seasoning: Whisk 1 egg with 1 tablespoon of water. Brush over the dough balls. Sprinkle generously with Everything But the Bagel seasoning.
- Bake: Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Finish with toppings: Brush the hot rolls with melted butter. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, crispy bacon, and fresh basil.
- Serve & dip: Place a bowl of pizza sauce or marinara in the center. Pull apart the warm, cheesy rolls and enjoy!

Notes
- Cook the bacon first – Always use pre-cooked, crispy bacon.
- Roll the dough evenly – Roll into a rectangle of even thickness so the rolls bake uniformly.
- Chill before slicing (optional) – If the dough feels too soft or sticky, chill the rolled log for 15 minutes before cutting—it makes cleaner slices.
- Use dental floss to cut – Unflavored dental floss makes it easy to slice rolls without squishing them flat.
- Leave space in the pan – Rolls expand as they bake, so don’t overcrowd the baking dish.
- Brush with garlic butter – For extra flavor, brush the tops with melted garlic butter right before or after baking.
- Bake until golden – Don’t under-bake; the bottoms should be crisp and the cheese fully melted.
- Reheat the right way – Warm leftovers in the oven or air fryer instead of the microwave to keep them crispy.

Hi Rimma! I haven't made this recipe ahead yet, if I would, I would make it up to 12 hours ahead, and keep it in the fridge until you are ready to bake it. Hope this helps!
