    Very Good

  2. Just call it a Boise Cheesesteak. No one in Philly puts mushrooms on a cheesesteak or Montreal steak seasoning. Literally no one.

I am from Philadelphia born and raised, this is your version of a Philly cheese steak with fried onions and mushrooms, this not our version , similar but no cigar.

  4. I’m from Philly and we don’t use mushrooms or Montreal seasoning and we use American cheese

    • I’m from Philly also. Mushrooms are optional anywhere I get them and I prefer them (though others don’t). Also while I also prefer American Cheese plenty of places offer provolone too. Perfectly acceptable. For the seasoning I prefer just salt and pepper but I suppose the Montreal seasoning would give it a slightly different flavor. Regardless, the cooking method is sound and this will give you a good sandwich. Just don’t say a real Philly cheesesteak has Cheez-Wiz – while it may taste good those are for the tourists!

      • Hi JB, thank you for sharing your thoughts about this recipe! Although I don’t see me saying “a real Philly cheesesteak has Cheez-Wiz”. Provolone or American cheese is my way to go.

    • Thank you for sharing LB! In our Philly sandwiches we like to use mushrooms and Montreal seasoning and sometimes we add American cheese instead of provolone. You should give it a try maybe you will like it!
